![]() School ProgramsPrograms/Services/CostsThe Bully Coach School Program involves collaboration between the school, parents and students. It offers:
Program Targets and Core ComponentsThis program is designed for elementary, middle and high schools and runs for the entire school year. It helps all staff and most importantly, students develop better interpersonal relationships through school-wide awareness of why bullying occurs and the dynamics involved in bullying situations. Faculty and students are taught how to manage bullying through acquisition of skills designed to reduce the power of bullying. All teachers and teacher aides follow a training program on the definition of bullying, how to identify it, and what they can do to manage these issues successfully. They will be asked to follow a clear protocol for reporting and documenting incidents in the school. Aides will help teacher's follow-through with consequences and implementation of the program. Parents are key players in the success of this program because of the role they play in their child's development and behavior. Parents must learn the same protocol taught to faculty and children to help them promote the success of the skill acquisition. Parent trainings become part of the community effort to reduce bullying and empower parents to learn skills to communicate more effectively with their children and the school community. Parents will be asked to reinforce aspects of the program to facilitate their child's skill development and promote further skill building at home by using program materials as needed. PROGRAM COSTThe cost depends on a number of factors. The Bully Coach School Program is not a cookie cutter program. We try to adapt our program content to the culture of the school, the needs of the school and the training demands required by each individual school. The program is not an assembly for children or a one-day seminar for training. We can provide the materials or resources to fill in what a school needs to manage bully issues, once we address all the important parameters. Thus the cost can vary depending on how much material and training we provide versus training your staff and having your staff train the key personnel and provide classroom trainings. The Bully Coach program runs the entire year. For specific costs regarding the program that fits your school's needs, contact us. Funding may be available for this kind of program. We will be happy to help you write a grant or look to other funding sources. Many times, foundations or PTO/PTA involvement can help identify sources in your community.
