For Parents
What are "Coaching services for parents for
Bullying Related Issues?"
While you may think parent coaching may sound
different or unusual, engaging some of my time may save
lots of worry and concern that you may have about
bullying and your child.
Coaching is an action-oriented partnership that
concentrates on the bullying or parenting issues you
have and how we will reach goals to manage these issues
together. Coaching is done over the telephone in 30 or
45 minute sessions, in my office and sometimes with email exchanges
between phone or office sessions. My bullying expertise will help
you find a way to deal with your particular bullying
concerns and develop specific, concrete plans to move
you out of the worry stage to feeling confident about
yourself and how you handle a bully situation. Having
the correct tools to navigate through a bully issue can
be a very powerful experience.
The most common scenario I deal with is a parent
whose child has been involved in a bully incident, and
they want to know how to deal with their child, any
other children involved in the incident, the school, and
the parents of the children involved. As a parent, you
need to manage the way you deal with this from the
beginning, to set the stage for how future interactions
with your child around bullying and life problems will
move forward. That is what "bully coaching" is all
about. My coaching involves either individual sessions
or classes for groups of parents.
Coaching is different from psychotherapy which delves
into the patterns of your past. Sometimes looking at the
past or knowing why you're facing a certain obstacle
needs to be addressed but that can become more of a
therapy related issue and I can let you know if that
would be a more positive direction for you.
Individualized Consultation services for
Parents/Families:
There are times when specific coaching sessions are
not enough to resolve more complicated issues.
I am available to work with you and/or family
based on the needs of your own situation. My
parenting expertise can be utilized to help you overcome
difficult family dynamics or specific problem situations
you may be experiencing. This may involve phone
consultations or face to face meetings.
I’ve been working for years to teach foundation
skills to children and have become a co-founder in a
company which provides emotional first aid skills to
children and parents who need to overcome worry and
anxiety, strengthen their confidence and self-esteem,
and build resilience. Take a look at
these kits which provide the best of what psychology has
to offer and have won National Parenting awards.
